‘The Legend of Tarzan’ – a blockbuster rich in modern qualities about the king of the jungle

Since his birth in the 1912 novel Tarzan of the Apes by writer Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan has become one of the most famous characters in literature and the silver screen.

According to the original story, Tarzan is an orphan boy living among all species in the African jungle.

At the beginning of the film, viewers encounter a tall European count with flowing, combed hair, a prominent nose, a wild face, deep eyes as well as a calm and somewhat literary way of speaking.

Gradually, the film reveals the animal instincts in the Count’s true self – knowing how to sing birdsong, kneeling and crawling and rubbing his body against lions to greet his fellow humans, swinging in the woods like an aboriginal man, fighting with monkeys.

Margot Robbie is wild and strong in her new movie.

While Tarzan’s appearance is gallant and noble, the film’s image evokes a poetic green forest space and modern African savannah.

Showcasing many impressive visual scenes, the film has few action scenes but is handled carefully.

A well-choreographed action sequence.

Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie perform perfectly as Tarzan and Jane.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson brings humor to the film with many juggling scenes with the male lead as he plays a clumsy doctor and veteran.

The minus point of the work lies in many flashback scenes.

The Legend of Tarzan opens in Vietnamese theaters from July 1.
