According to Dr. Tuyet, about two months ago, the number of pregnant women infected with Covid-19 was very small, but recently the number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 has been very high.

Initially, this place only accepted cases with indications for intervention for pregnant women infected with Covid-19 and pregnant women over 38 weeks.

`At one time, the hospital treated more than 200 patients who were pregnant women with Covid-19, of which about 10% of patients had severe symptoms or were in critical condition,` said Dr. Tuyet.

According to Dr. Tuyet, pregnant women need more oxygen than usual, so when infected with Covid-19, the lungs are damaged, easily causing difficulty breathing and rapid respiratory failure. If not intervened promptly, the lives of both mother and mother will be dangerous.

Accordingly, women who are 13 weeks or more pregnant are in the group that needs to be cautiously vaccinated. The medical facility must explain the benefits and risks, sign a commitment to agree to vaccination, and transfer them to an obstetric emergency facility for vaccination.
