Long Hai Beach Travel Guide

A town located in Ba Ria province, 12km from Vung Tau city, Long Hai beach is blessed with many poetic and beautiful scenes.

Weather

Because it belongs to the Southeast region, Long Hai always has a cool climate all year round.

Vehicles

With a fairly close distance to Saigon, you can travel by private car, motorbike or public bus.

Passenger bus: You can buy tickets at Mien Dong bus station.

Motorbike: Tourists can refer to two routes as follows:

– From Saigon, you start along National Highway 1A, cross Dong Nai bridge and will encounter a roundabout called Vung Tau intersection.

– Also from Saigon, try taking the Cat Lai ferry route to Nhon Trach (Dong Nai).

Stay overnight

You can set up a tent on the beach or go to a motel, hotel or tourist area (from affordable to high-end).

Vist location

– Minh Dam Mountain: This is a mountain associated with the heroic history of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province during the war period.

On the way, about halfway up the mountain, you will see a panoramic view of Long Hai with the image of the sea on one side and the forest on the other.

– Long Hai Beach: The beach still has many wild and clean features, suitable for backpacking groups to camp overnight to enjoy the fresh, cool nature.

– Dinh Co Beach: Located at the foot of Dinh Co Palace, this beach also has the same name with fine, golden sand.

Dinh Co Palace with unique architecture is located right next to the sea.

– Truc Lam Chan Nguyen Zen Monastery: Located at the foot of Minh Dam mountain and opened in 1987, the monastery is located in a practice space that blends with majestic nature.

Standing out in the green space of the mountains and forests is the main hall.

Looming in the forest are small, simple wooden huts for the monks practicing here.

– Nuoc Ngot Pass: If you have come to Long Hai, you should not miss the Nuoc Ngot Pass road, along the coast with a length of 5 km, always bustling with tourists in the last months of the year.

A special point to mention is the cherry blossom forest in full bloom halfway up the mountain.

Many young people often choose the pass to have unique wedding photos next to the blooming cherry blossoms.

Specialty dish

Banh Xeo: Thanks to the fresh food source caught by fishermen during the day and not having gone through the stages of freezing, cooling, plus the pouring technique, the banh xeo here is bright yellow, fragrant and crispy.

Gun hot pot: A long-standing specialty of Long Hai sea, gun hot pot is considered one of the famous daily dishes of local people.

The ingredients used to cook gun hot pot in the most authentic and delicious way include the head and intestines of green thieu fish.

The unique taste in the hot pot broth has a very unique flavor from the soy sauce mixed with the acidity of the tamarind, the aroma from the lemongrass, the sweetness from the fresh fish and the crispiness from the water lily stems, making the dish more flavorful and unique.

Sea specialties: In addition to typical dishes, this place also has many types of fresh seafood caught near the shore such as squid, shrimp, crabs, crabs, snails… at affordable prices.
