US President Joe Biden has a state visit to Vietnam on September 10-11 at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

On this occasion, the two sides agreed to elevate their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

US news agency AP quoted President Biden as saying his visit shows the increasingly close relationship between the US and Vietnam, and is part of an effort to bring global stability through building closer relationships.

According to AP, the fact that Vietnam and the US agreed to upgrade relations shows the level of progress of the bilateral relationship.

Japan’s NHK news agency quoted President Joe Biden’s statement in a joint press conference with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the evening of September 10 that this upgrade opens a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.

The New York Times quoted President Joe Biden’s statement during a joint press conference with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: `Today we can look back at the journey of relations between the two countries, from conflict to normalization.`

The head of the US government also emphasized: `This is an extremely important step for both countries because it demonstrates the strength of the relationship itself when we are facing challenges that may arise.`
